Interventions

Initial Assessment

Prior to meeting your student, we will have discussed strengths and weaknesses your child exhibits in the areas of reading, writing, and spelling. Should your child have a formal diagnosis/psycho-educational evaluation, I will study it and reference it often. If you would like me to reach out to your child’s school and teachers, I will gladly do so.

During our initial meeting, I will build rapport with your student and give the Gallestille-Ellis (GE) Assessment or Phonological Awareness Screening Test (PAST) to determine your child’s present levels and academic needs.

Communication

I like to briefly touch base with parents/guardians at the end of each lesson. You can support your child by reviewing what was taught during tutoring at home. If you would like, I can scan session notes/observations for your records and provide work samples and summaries to your child’s school. I respond to emails during the school day while I am not tutoring. I will always get in touch within 24 hours.

Location/Duration

Sessions last 55 minutes and take place during or after school.

I meet students in nearby libraries, other quiet spaces,  or online.

I also tutor on location at Springer School and Center in Cincinnati, OH.

I will draft up a contract detailing a time and location with your family’s schedule in mind.
